WEFT Sessions 2018 Year-in-Review

Each year, rather than book band to play live on the air during the holidays, we spend two Mondays recapping the year's shows. This year the Mondays fall on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and I, Mike Feldman, the WEFT Sessions sound engineer and archivist, will be in the WEFT studio from 10 PM until midnight playing one song from each act we've featured during the year.

For the Year-in-Review show I go back through the year's recordings and choose a song that best represents the band. I choose original songs over covers, up-tempo over ballads, and shorter over longer songs. Sometimes the pick is immediately obvious to me, and for some shows I have to violate my selection rules. In some cases I've uploaded video of a favorite song to the show's Media page, and for most shows I provide a link to Urbana Public Television's YouTube video of the whole show.
